Soil Requirements

Land Preparation
The soil should be pulverised 2 to 3 times ploughing and black farming requires good drainage system in the fields, you can use drip irrigation through government subsidy .Mix the cow dung at the rate of 10 x 15 Tonnes per acre.
Germination
The bales are good breeder material. Ripe bales are collected before sowing and cut into lengths. After that germination in each bud part is used for planting
Pest and Disease
Black turmeric has not been seen any outbreak of pests but sometimes black spot can be observed on leaves.
Harvest
Black turmeric harvested in the month of January and it takes 9 months from the plantation.
Post-Harvest
After removing the knots, peel of them and dry in the open air and store it in the moisture free place.
Yield
Approximately we can get 50 Tones of black turmeric in one acre and 10 tones of dry lumps
Profit
Currently the wholesale market price for the raw black turmeric is around 50Rs.So we can get 25,00,000 in 1 acre. If you have done proper maintenance and good management farmers can earn at least 15 lakhs in 1 acre.
